AIDS Community Care Montreal (ACCM) is looking for a Receptionist to join the Administration Department! ACCM is the only English-speaking community organization that offers prevention and support services to people living with or affected by HIV and/or hepatitis C in Quebec. We work in collaboration with our many communities to build a compassionate and caring response to HIV and hepatitis C and do education work that equips people with the knowledge and skills needed to make informed decisions around their sexual health.  (Please note that ACCM refers to clients of our services as Members)

The main objective of the Receptionist is to manage our front desk on a daily basis and to perform a variety of administrative and clerical tasks.


  • Greet and welcome members as soon as they arrive at the organization
  • Direct visitors to the appropriate person and office
  • Answer, screen and forward incoming phone calls 
  • Ensure reception area is tidy and presentable, with all necessary stationery and material (e.g. pens, forms and brochures)
  • Provide basic and accurate information in-person and via phone/email
  • Receive, sort, and distribute daily mail/deliveries
  • Maintain office security by following safety procedures and controlling access via the reception desk (monitor logbook, issue visitor badges, have visitors sign the confidentiality form)
  • Order office and cleaning supplies and keep inventory of stock for the drop-in
  • Keep updated records of office expenses and costs
  • Make sure the list of appointments with Members or external visitors is up to date every day and available for the receptionist
  • Update calendars and schedule meetings
  • Arrange travel and accommodations, and prepare vouchers as needed 
  • Perform other clerical receptionist duties such as filing, photocopying, transcribing and faxing

Our ideal candidate has all or a combination of the skills and experience below:

  • Proven work experience as a Receptionist, Front Office Representative or similar role
  • Is bilingual, at minimum, perfectly fluent in English & French, both written and spoken; Spanish is an asset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Hands-on experience with office equipment (e.g. fax machines and printers)
  • Professional attitude and appearance
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills 
  • Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise
  • Is self-motivated & willing to initiate projects and see them through
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Customer service attitude
  • High school degree; additional certification in Office Management is a plus
  • Is knowledgeable about sexual health, HIV, hepatitis C, STBBIs, and the social drivers of health
  • Believes in the organization’s mission and vision, and will act as an ambassador for ACCM 


ACCM operates Monday to Thursday, from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, with occasional evenings and weekends during group activities and events. The starting pay rate for this position is $21.37 per hour, 32h per week, and includes 3 weeks of paid vacation (on top of 2 weeks over the end of year break), paid sick days as well as a group health insurance plan.
