Our Newcomer’s Support staff and Volunteers are on hand to listen to the needs of migrants, refugee claimants and protected people living with HIV or hepatitis C.
With empathy, respect, and complete confidentiality. We’re available to schedule one-on-one meetings to provide personalized assessment of the needs of newcomers, as well as referrals to external community partners and resources. If you would like to speak with someone about any challenges you might be experiencing in your settlement process, we’re here to lend an ear and work together to find solutions.
What the Newcomers Support Program can do:
- Provides information about HIV and immigration.
- Help in the navigation of health and social services in Montreal.
- Access to treatment and medication.
- Peer-led Supports Group (seasonal).
- Sexual and mental health.
- Healthy Relationships.
- Employment, career coaching and workshops.
- Volunteer opportunities.
What the Newcomers Support Program can not do:
- We can only provide information and referrals about immigration. We cannot deliver legal advice as we are not immigration lawyers or certified immigration consultants.
- We don’t provide housing services, but we connect people with other organizations that could help.
- We are not a crisis immigration drop-in centre, meetings are by appointment only and services are only given to people living or at risk of HIV/Hepatitis C.
