A special exhibition organized in collaboration with the VAV Gallery featuring Stuart Marshall’s Robert Marshall in conversation with selected works from Concordia Fine Arts Students on HIV/AIDS, intergenerationality, and queer identit(y)(ies).

DEC 1ST: “Meet Stuart Marshall – Art, Activism and the AIDS Crisis: Learning in a Public Medium”, 7pm, Maxwell-Cummings Auditorium

A public lecture by Conal McStravick on the political and cultural significance of Marshall’s AIDS-related film and video work. Featuring a special introduction by filmmaker, activist, and collaborator of Marshall’s, John Greyson.

DEC 2ND: “Generations: A workshop with Conal McStravick and Ryan Conrad” 2-5pm, VAV Gallery

An interactive workshop on the role of cultural production as a means of intergenerational communication and knowledge/memory transmission about the AIDS crisis. The workshop will examine Stuart Marshall’s Robert Marshallin dialogue with selected works from Concordia Fine Arts Students.The workshop is free and open to the public with limited registration. DEC 4th: “Meet Stuart Marshall: AIDS film and video work 1984-1993”, Program 1: 2pm, Program 2: 5pm, H-110, 1455 De Maisonneuve W.

A two-program retrospective screening of Marshall’s AIDS-related film and video works. Featuring an introduction by Conal McStravick.

DEC 6th: “Generations: Finissage”, 6-8pm, VAV Gallery

A finissage for “Generations”, featuring performances and a special screening of additional student works.
