OUR MANDATE

The Education for Prevention (E4P) department is dedicated to equipping people with the knowledge and tools needed to make informed decisions concerning their sexual health. Our department is equally committed to building capacity in order to put these decisions into action. These goals are achieved through the provision of innovative education and prevention services and programs aimed at decreasing the incidence of HIV, AIDS, viral hepatitis C and other sexually transmitted infections (STIs). Paramount to our practice is the promotion of sexual health and risk reduction strategies.

Our programs and services are geared primarily towards men who have sex with men (MSM) and youth-at-risk on the island of Montreal. The E4P department develops new and adapts pre-existing programs and services based on the emerging needs of our priority populations and other groups. Our programs and services are offered in the English language. In addition, we strive to increase access to our services in French and other languages.

What we do
ACCM provides sexuality education and health promotion workshops for free! Our highly trained volunteers espouse a sex positive philosophy to encourage safer sex practices. We offer 4 main workshops but are also open to variations (queer specific, sexual assault, etc) and have presented at schools, community groups, and fairs all over the city. We also host informational kiosks.
